Now more than ever, your membership in Rocky Mountain National Association of Theatre Owners can make a difference for your business.

RMNATO, represents Motion Picture Exhibitors in the six-state region of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.  Although our membership is separate, we are a certified affiliate of the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO);  we work closely with and value their strong support on issues affecting our Exhibitors.

NATO lobbies for its members on the federal level, and in turn, they look to the regional associations to lobby on behalf of members regarding state and local issues.  Each year we see more and more legislation introduced at the state and local levels, including proposals for straw bans, open captioning, minimum wage, paid leave and the list goes on…

In 2020…

— During the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, RMNATO worked closely with the region’s governors to allow for the safe re-opening of theaters wherever possible.

— RMNATO helped to ensure motion picture exhibitors were aware of and included in available state financial assistance grants.

— RMNATO drafted and received approval from the State of Montana for a Movie Theater Assistance Grant Program, with individual businesses being eligible for up to $500,000 each.

— RMNATO, with funding from NATO, coordinated professional lobbying services in New Mexico, Colorado and Idaho.

— RMNATO held bi-weekly Zoom meetings to keep members abreast of the latest state legislative and lobbying developments, and updates on re-opening efforts in all six states.

— RMNATO fostered networking among its members during a time of crisis.

RMNATO will continue to be a valuable resource to exhibitors as they continue working towards getting back on stable footing in the years to come.
